Comparative law analysisComparative law represents the theoretical study of legal systems by comparison with each other. For a specific piece of legislation, comparative law analysis focuses on studying similarities and differences between various countries at a specific point in time. Conversely, comparative law analysis can focus on one country alone, following the same piece of legislation within a specific time frame. The main purpose of this endeavor is to understand and learn from other countries’ experience in a specific field and to be able to find arguments that support our case. Closely related to the issue of comparative law are the matters of unification/harmonization of law and conflict of laws, especially with regard to EU matters. |
